If you watch movies or television, you’ve seen couples blissfully getting pregnant the first time they try - or sometimes even without trying! The reality, however, is that very few couples are able to conceive the first time they try, and it takes many couples more than a year.

About 15 percent of couples in the United States are infertile; that is, they have not conceived after a year of having regular sexual intercourse without using birth control.
