Screening Mammogram

Wendover OB/GYN & Infertility has partnered with Onsite Women's Health for your annual screening mammograms. Both are safe and supportive spaces for women to learn about and address their breast health. Using Hologic's state-of-the-art *GeniusTM 3D MammographyTM, Onsite Women's Health offers breast screenings in the comfort of our office when it suits you. Onsite Women's Health is ACR accredited.

GeniusTM 3D MammographyTM complements standard 2D technology and is performed at the same time with the same system. 3D MammographyTM eliminates the complexity of overlapping breast tissue during imaging because the camera moves over the breast and takes images from multiple angles. The benefits of 3D mammograms include the following:

  • Reduced imaging call-backs and additional tests
  • Earlier detection of small breast cancers that may be hidden during 2D mammography
  • Greater accuracy in pinpointing size, shape, and location of abnormalities
  • Greater likelihood of detecting multiple breast tumors, which occur in 15 percent of breast cancer patients

*3D Mammography, 3D, and Genius are trademarks and/or service marks of Hologic, Inc.

Note on Mammograms and Covid-19 Vaccinations

The vaccines that prevent COVID-19 can cause swollen lymph nodes under the arm where the shot was given. Your lymph nodes are part of your body's germ-fighting immune system. The swelling in the lymph nodes is a sign that your body is responding to the vaccine and building up defenses against the virus.

In order to prevent this, you may want to wait to schedule your annual mammogram before you have your first dose of the vaccine or 4-6 weeks after your second dose of the COVID vaccine.

If you prefer to go ahead and proceed with your mammogram, let the mammogram tech know when you had your vaccine and in which arm. This information will be helpful to the radiologist interpreting your images.
