Rolitta Dawson joined the Wendover OB/GYN family in March of 2014. She started her career as a lab technician after obtaining her B.A. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While working in the laboratory, Rolitta returned to school and earned an Associates Degree in Nursing from Guilford Technical Community College.
She worked as a RN at Women’s Hospital for just over 13 years. Working as a RN in low and high risk obstetrics and gynecology, Rolitta's dream of pursuing a career as a nurse midwife and empowering women grew stronger. She enrolled at Frontier Nursing University to obtain her Master's Degree in Nursing with a focus on Midwifery.
Rolitta holds certifications from: The American Midwifery Certification Board, The University of Philadelphia (certified OB/GYN surgical assistant), Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (Certified Robotic Surgical Assistant), Wake Forest Baptist Hospital (Certified OB/GYN Ultrasound Provider), and Waterbirth International (Certified Waterbirth Provider).
She incorporates her knowledge and personal use of essential oils as a natural alternative for improvement in women’s health, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and babies. Rolitta is a member of American College of Nurse Midwives, ACNM Midwives of Color, International Center for Traditional Childbearing, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She is married with one daughter and has two loving Maltipoms. In her downtime, she loves Zumba Fitness, exploring the many uses of essential oils, reading, scrapbooking, watching movies with family and friends, and cooking.
Primary Specialty: Midwifery
What patients are saying: "Rolitta took her time with me, she remembered my family and asked about them, and she started with the least invasive treatment option with a clear plan going forward if it does not work. It was a very helpful and enjoyable visit"
"I LOVE MY MIDWIVES ROLITTA, MELANIE & TANYA! They make me feel so empowered to give birth! I have loved my entire experience at Wendover OB/GYN & I'm so glad I made the switch to this practice. The fact that you can offer Nurse Midwives is amazing and I really appreciate it."
I am accepting new patients.
