Tanya Bailey resides in Brown Summit with her husband and two (almost grown) sons and several furry babies. She loves spending time with her boys!
For over 25 years, she has worked in maternity services, but believes her life’s work started in 2002 when she became a midwife. She is currently involved in local, state, and national organizations to promote midwifery and women’s health. Her favorite professional work has been with the American Midwifery Certification Board serving on the board and as the chair of the exam committee as a content expert.
Her expertise in midwifery certification and regulation led to her selection as a representative for US-MERA, a national umbrella organization of all of the midwifery organizations in the U.S., to address legislative and practice issues involving midwives. Additionally, she has a love of teaching and mentoring that led to the adjunct faculty status at East Carolina University and Frontier University with a continued commitment to supporting and training future midwives.
In our community, she supports and advocates for healthcare choices for women. She is actively involved with local collaborative efforts to improve maternity services and pregnancy access, but she is particularly passionate about her involvement with the Guilford County Coalition on Infant Mortality.
In 2014, she was awarded fellowship into the American College of Nurse-Midwives. This prestigious award recognizes the lifetime achievement and clinical excellence of midwives. She is one of only 250 midwives in the U.S. honored by this title. To learn more about midwifery, please visit www.midwife.org.

What patients are saying: "Tanya Bailey is amazing. She listens and really helps brain storm to find solutions to ongoing problems."
"I am extremely happy with my experience thus far at Wendover OB/GYN, especially my interaction with Tanya and the staff. Everyone is extremely helpful and willing to work with our goals for our pregnancy and labor. The only negative is the wait time once in the exam room, which I plan for at my appointments as I understand you all are so busy. Definitely willing to wait for the excellent care I receive. Thank you!"
I am accepting new patients.
